At Least She Has Her Spelling Down.

Getting Josie to do her school work is like...getting Josie to do anything she doesn't want to do.  In the past, I've threatened, bribed, physically made her and any other means necessary.

Now, I just wait for the storm to pass and move on. It seems to be the most effective.

Today, she was doing her Language Arts at the kitchen table, while I was in other room helping Jayce with History.

Josie:  MOM!!! I'm D-O-N-E!!

Me:  Josie, did you do B-O-T-H pages?

Josie: Well, P-O-O-P!!!

( :

(if poop is the worst word she ever spells, then we're good)

  1. LOL, great use of spelling! We were unschoolers so we were pretty much into "whatever you want to learn today." However, I always had goals for the school year and now they both have college degrees so I guess it worked! They never knew that I had a plan for the year. How funny! Now my daughter wants to homeschool her own daughter! Exciting stuff!

  2. OH, how I wish that was the worst word my son ever spelt. But I must say, last night he managed to spell championship. And It wasn't even one of his words. :)

  4. That's cute. :) Made me smile. Love the things kids come up with.

But what kind of nutcase would homeschool??
    ;)

My two homeschoolers are doing pretty well. Despite the fact we were weird, too.

And my son told his grandmother at age 6 just exactly how babies are made and come into the world. I think she had her doubts about homeschooling for awhile there.

  5. That's adorable! :)

I love that my kids think the "s-h word" is "shut up" and the "f-word" is "fart" - spelling can be great! LOL
